These SUVs gave drivers power and room to roam. But with time, some issues tend to pop up:

  • ABS Module Failure: Unpredictable braking behavior, combined with the ABS light, usually points to a bad module. 
  • Steering Shaft Clunk: A metallic click when turning? That’s likely the intermediate steering shaft needing service. 
  • Fuel Pump Failure: Particularly common in the XL variant, these pumps tend to fail suddenly, often without warning.

2007–2014 GMC Yukon & Yukon XL (Second Generation)

With sleeker looks and more tech, this generation also brought a handful of familiar headaches: 

  • Oil Consumption (5.3L AFM): Models with Active Fuel Management (AFM) often burned oil prematurely. GM made updates, but many trucks still suffer. 
  • Stabilitrak Warnings: Erratic ABS or traction alerts usually trace back to a bad wheel speed sensor or faulty yaw sensor. 
  • Air Suspension Droop: The automatic leveling system wears out with age. Leaky shocks or failing compressors are common.
